Embarking on the creation of my first musical piece was nothing short of an exhilarating adventure. The project culminated in a music video crafted in the spirit of the New Wave movement—a genre that emerged in the late 1970s, blending punk rock’s rebellious energy with pop music’s catchy melodies and art rock’s experimental flair. Characterized by its eclectic mix of punk energy, electronic experimentation, and pop sensibility, New Wave not only redefined music at the time but also left a lasting impact on popular culture.

The New Wave Influence

New Wave music is known for its catchy melodies, energetic rhythms, and eclectic instrumentation, often featuring synthesizers, drum machines, and electronic effects. The lyrics of New Wave songs often explore themes of love, relationships, and societal issues, reflecting the cultural and political climate of the time.

The Creative Journey

In our endeavor to encapsulate the essence of this style, we inadvertently concealed the client’s brand within the video to such an extent that it became nearly invisible—a creative choice that perhaps led to our client’s reservations about the production. Nonetheless, collaborating with the vocalist and sound producer was a remarkable experience, offering a refreshing departure from the routine of advertising work. This venture ignited a passion that has since become a cherished hobby.
